Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

1. What services do you offer?
We provide professional polygraph (lie detection) examinations for various needs, including pre-employment screening, criminal investigations, infidelity cases, employee theft, and other specialized testing.

2. How does a polygraph test work?
A polygraph test measures physiological responses such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and skin conductivity while the examinee answers a series of questions. A certified polygraph examiner analyzes the data to determine truthfulness.

3. Who can request a polygraph examination?
Individuals, businesses, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, and government organizations can request polygraph services.

4. How accurate is a polygraph test?
While no test is 100% accurate, polygraph examinations conducted by certified professionals have a high reliability rate, typically between 90-98%. Properly administered tests help uncover the truth effectively.

5. Is the test admissible in court?
Polygraph results may be admissible in court depending on the jurisdiction and the circumstances of the case. However, they are often used as investigative tools rather than direct legal evidence.

6. How does a polygraph compare to EyeDetect?
While EyeDetect is a developing technology, polygraph testing remains the gold standard in lie detection. Polygraphs assess multiple physiological responses, provide an in-depth pre-test interview, and allow for examiner analysis, making them far more reliable and accurate. Polygraph exams have been refined for decades and have a proven accuracy rate of 90-98%, whereas EyeDetect lacks the same level of scrutiny and validation and only measures changes in eye behaviour, making it less reliable as a standalone test.

Booking and Process

7. How do I schedule a polygraph test?
You can schedule a test by contacting us via phone, email, or through our website. We recommend booking in advance to ensure availability. Appointment is only confirmed after receipt of a non-refundable deposit of XCD$100 which will be deducted from the overall cost of the exam on the day of the exam. Payment details will be shared after client has registered interest in taking the polygraph.

8. How long does the polygraph process take?
A typical polygraph examination lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This includes the pre-test interview, the actual examination, chart analysis and post-test discussion.

9. What should I do to prepare for a polygraph test?
Get a good night’s rest, stay hydrated, and avoid excessive caffeine or alcohol before the test. It’s important to be honest and cooperative throughout the process.

10. Can I refuse to take a polygraph test?
Yes, polygraph tests are voluntary unless legally mandated by an employer or law enforcement agency under specific conditions.

Yes, all test results and discussions are strictly confidential and only shared with authorized individuals as per our agreement.

12. When will I receive my results?
Results are usually available within 48 hours after the test. Expedited results may be available upon request.

13. Can someone manipulate or cheat a polygraph test?
While some people attempt to manipulate results, modern polygraph techniques are highly effective at detecting deception. Attempting to deceive the test can negatively impact results.
